26 people have been electrocuted to death in a market in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo when a power line fell on them following heavy rains in the city.

24 of the casualties were females while 2 were men.

Meanwhile, Congolese president, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi  Tshilombo has ordered that government meet all the funeral costs.
