
As one way of creating jobs in the country, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife is inviting applications to fill the post of a Dancer (Grade M) within the Department of Arts.
According to the employment terms this is a three-year contract renewable subject to performance.
Candidates must be non-serving Officers with MSCE, strong interest and dedication to learn traditional dances and songs. Those with practical knowledge for traditional dances and local languages will have an added advantage. Must be between 18 to 35 years.
Those successful Dancers will be reporting to Dance Leader and will be responsible for the following;
DUTIES
Attending rehearsals regularly and master song and dance skills for the troupes’ song and dance collection
Be part of performers for the dance troupe during outreach events, Government events, international tours, and hired events
Be part of the performers for the dance troupe during recording of music in the studio
Assisting the choreographer in dance, song and drum research
Assist the choreographer in mentoring the youth in traditional song, dance and music
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
