Mzuzu, Malawi: Joe Thomas Nyirongo, a prominent member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), has revealed that the internal conflicts he faced within the party have been resolved.
This comes after Nyirongo, affectionately known as “Big Joe,” released an audio statement on Thursday expressing his frustration with certain party members who had been threatening him.
According to Nyirongo, the party leadership promptly addressed his concerns and assured him of their support. In an interview with our publication, Big Joe expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for intervention and kindness.
“I am thankful to President Chakwera for his generosity and caring nature. His leadership always brings stability to our party, and I appeal to all Malawians to support him in next year’s general election,” Nyirongo said.
The resolution of the internal conflict within the MCP is seen as a positive development ahead of the upcoming elections. Nyirongo’s endorsement of President Chakwera is expected to boost the party’s momentum and reinforce its unity.
Sources close to the party confirmed that measures have been taken to address Nyirongo’s concerns and ensure a harmonious working relationship among party members.
With the 2025 general elections on the horizon, the MCP is gearing up to capitalize on its strengths and present a united front to the electorate. Big Joe’s resolution with the party leadership is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
