Mighty Wanderers emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Blantyre derby, defeating FCB Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0.

Blessings Mwalilino’s 11th-minute goal proved to be the decisive factor, securing all three points for the Lali Lubani outfit.

In the post-match interview, Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira praised his team’s disciplined performance.

“We have managed to secure all three points, which is a dedication to our departed Technical Director, Yassin Osman,” Mpinganjira said.

Bullets coach Peter Mponda conceded defeat, acknowledging that Wanderers didn’t allow his team to create scoring opportunities.

“We were lucky not to concede a truckload of goals in the first half when our opponents took control of the midfield,” Mponda said.

The win has narrowed the gap between Wanderers and Bullets to two points, with the People’s team leading the league, undoubtedly earning the Nomads bragging rights in the Blantyre derby.
