Mzuzu City Mayor, His Worship Councilor Chiyembekezo Moses, has urged traditional and block leaders to put aside their differences and work together towards the development of the city.

Addressing block and traditional leaders at the Council Chamber, Councilor Moses emphasized the importance of active participation and timely implementation of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects.

He warned that failure to do so would result in a lost opportunity for Mzuzu City.

“As leaders, we have that oversight mandate of ensuring that we scrutinize CDF projects in fulfilment of the Urban Structure Plan,” Councilor Moses said.

Msongwe-Gate block leader, Chester Mtegha, praised the City Mayor for his inclusive approach, saying it’s the first time block leaders have been invited to such an engagement.

“This is a clear indication of the spirit of inclusivity to the urbanization programs,” Mtegha said.

Since taking office, the Mzuzu City Mayor has engaged various partners and individuals to ensure city dwellers are at the forefront of development initiatives.
