Mzimba, Malawi – Honourable Vitumbiko Mumba has rolled out a landmark ICT initiative in his constituency, equipping learners with desktop computers and internet connectivity to bridge the communication gap that has long hindered their academic progress.
Writing on his official Facebook page, the parliamentarian announced that a Local Area Network (LAN) has been successfully installed at Echilumbeni Community Day Secondary School (CDSS).
He expressed delight that students can now log into newly created accounts and access computer-based learning tailored to their classes.

“I am glad that the students can now use the computers and learn ICT at Echilumbeni CDSS. Every student will be logging into their accounts, which have been created today, and directed to their class,” Mumba stated.
The development marks a significant step in integrating ICT into secondary education, aligning with national and global efforts to modernize learning environments and prepare students for the digital age.
Mumba further disclosed that the next phase of the project will target Kamubanga CDSS, subject to fuel availability at Mzimba Boma.

The initiative has been widely welcomed by education stakeholders and community members, who view it as a practical demonstration of Mumba’s guiding principle: #PeopleOverPolitics.
