MERA Effects Fuel Price Cut

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has announced a reduction in fuel prices effective today, 19 June 2026

Under the new prices, petrol will now be selling at K5,619 per liter, down from K6,209, representing a decrease of K590.

Diesel has also been reduced from K6,687 to K6,306 per litter, while kerosene is now pegged at K4,771.00 perlitere from the previous K5,709.00

The latest review by MERA follows amid expectations that lower fuel prices could ease transportation costs and bring relief to consumers who have been struggling with rising living expenses.
