The United Transformation Movement (UTM) on Saturday pulled a huge crowd at Enukweni Community Ground in Mzimba‑North that has never been seen since the demise of its founding president, the late Saulos Klaus Chilima.
The last time such a crowd was witnessed was during a mega political rally Chilima conducted jointly with then‑Tonse Alliance partners and Malawi Congress Party leader Lazarus Chakwera at the Upper Stadium in Mzuzu City.
Mzimba‑North Parliamentarian Honourable Dr. Catherine Mzumara attracted a similar crowd during her K15 million Constituency Cup finals in netball and football leagues.
In her remarks, Honourable Dr. Mzumara said the turnout is a clear testimony that Malawians are tired of promises and lies, and that their hope now rests in UTM.
“No one was picked to be part of this meeting. It’s only the finals of my Constituency football and netball league—everyone has walked to this place,” she said.
