As the countdown to this year’s Super League season kick off continues the local players transfer market has started ticking with clubs justifying their acquisitions while some releasing chunks of their long serving players.

Civo, Nyasa Big Bullets, Moyale, Ekwendeni Hammers and Blue Eagles are some of the notable teams which have released substantial number of players hoping to beef up their squads with youthful players when the Football Association of Malawi’s Mpira Connect opens.

Meanwhile, Civo United have joined the race to sign Silver Strikers’ axed player, Haji Wali but Nyasa Big Bullets look favourites to sign him.

Reports from the Lalli Lubami Road indicates that Mighty Wanderers are about to sign Bullets’s out of favour, Chiukepo Msowoya in the next few days.

Meanwhile, the Nomads official, Humphreys Mvula says the board will discuss if there is a need to sign former ESCOM, Orlando Pirates and Bullets player whose contract was not renewed by the Red army.

Aother Bullets long serving player, Sankhani Mkandawire looks set to play for Sable Farming this coming season after being released from Bullets.

Injury prone, Lucky Malata is set to quit playing Football as he is yet to report for work at his base, Wanderers FC, so too is Juma Yatina who says will not play for Wanderers as he sees possibilities of going to another club.

Former Silver player, Kondwani Mwaila is another player currently trying his luck at Wanderers together with goalkeeper Pilirani Mapira, formerly of Mzuzu Warriors and Amos Bello.

Prospects are very high that red hot Civo’s Lawrence Chaziya will join Nyasa Big Bullets who are leading the race to sign him.

Muhammed Sulumba who earlier on signed a pre-contract with the Nomads seems to have completed his return to the Lalli Lubani outfit.
