
Reserve Bank of Malawi sponsored side Silver Strikers have disembark from plans to participate in the 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) competition following its board of Directors agreed not to do so.
Despite, Strikers being eligible to play in the tournament having won the FDH Bank Cup and also a runner up finish in the TNM Super league 2021 edition but Chief Executive Officer, Thokozani Chimbali confirmed the upshot.

“We had withdrawn the plans of taking part in CAF as the board highlighted some factors, we are not ready now to disclose the reason.” said Chimbali.
Meanwhile, an inside source indicates that team failed to e each an agreement with DD Sunshine to be their women’s team as per CAF recommendations to play in their competitions in 2022, can be the main reason not to feature in the continental games.

The team pulled out its registration in from the tournament last year after some technical challenges at the club .
