Nomads Mum On Board Dissolution

Mvula, Board Secretary

The Mighty Wanderers Football Club Board Secretary, Humphreys Mvula has refused to comment on the wrangles currently troubling the country’s oldest football power house.

On Monday this week, various social media outlets were flooded with news that Mighty Wanderers supporters held a meeting in Blantyre which agreed to dissolved the team’s executive Board.

In a very brief interview Mvula said the matter is internal and as such he cannot comment on such issues in the media.

“I have no comment, we don’t discuss board issues in the media to save ourselves from embarrassment. Look this is an internal Wanderers matter, I don’t think I should be bullied to comment on it,” Mvula said.

Upon arrival back in Mzuzu from the meeting in Blantyre, Wanderers supporters chairperson for the northern region, Yosefe ‘Bolamoyo’ Misinde broke the news by informing the soccer fraternity that the teams Board of Trustees is dissolved.

Misinde further revealed that the three days closed door meetings that were held in Blantyre could not find the way forward on a number of issues such as players welfare and general sponsorship considering that Super League season kicks off two weeks time.

We’ve Dissolved, Misinde

“We found it wise to dissolve that main executive body because up to now we could not see or hear any tangible solution to the outstanding issue of contracts and the club sponsorship as a whole,” Misinde said.

He further told the media that all matters that need attention of the executive are being handled by the leadership of the supporters.

Nomads in Glorious days

Meanwhile, another letter has been issued purportedly to be written by Wandèrers players calling for the immediate resignation of Board members: Chance Gondwe, Ernest Maganga, Adela Migogo, Limbani Magmero and Sam Mponda.

Mighty Wanderers Football Club have now gone almost three seasons without clinching any silverware despite reaching cup finals in some competitions.
