Bible stories and real life experience fusion music maestro, Macdonald Mlaka Maliro has returned to the music scene with his powerful genre performed in reggae style, parked with messages softly hitting the leadership of the Tonse Alliance government.
Popular for his hit songs ‘Dzanja Lalemba’ and ‘Samalani Banja’ among others, Mlaka left his music followers while they were still craving for more of his songs when he joined Próphet Sherperd Bushiri’s Enlightened Christian Gathering missionary works slightly more than a decade ago.
‘Vinyo Watha’ is a newly released song with powerful and very touching message reminding believers not put much of their belief in political leaders who are only good at promising what they cannot deliver.
The lyrics start with a Bible story of Jesus Christ in Cana where he went with his mother and performed a miracle, turning water into wine.
“Ndayima lero pa gome kufuna kularika uthenga wa mbuye, tsiku lina Ambuye Yesu anapita ku ukwati ndi mayi Maria. Ali çhivinire madyerero ali mkati vinyo anawathera.
“Atsala ndi masanje musapusitsike palibe chilipó, musakomedwe ndi sweet talk anthuwa vinyo watha.
“Akuyenda ndi mdidi mbendera petupetu koma vinyo watha.
“N’kanadziwa dzana lija kuti Canaan munknena uja anali wa pachibale,” sings Mlaka.
Meanwhile, some media blogs have reported that Mlaka who left Zembani band to form his own, Maloto Virations then later joined Prophet Sherperd Bushirí’s ECG to become a pastor is now back to his roots as a secular Musician.
“My Children are in school and my Wife spends most of her time in Malawi. I have been preaching outside of the country while my wife has been back home so it is difficult for me to spare time with them.
“I am now back into music and I am ready to start touring Malawi and beyond,” said Maliro.
